COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

At Mbudg-Mburrum, community is at the heart of everything we do. Every project is about giving back, especially in remote communities across the Northern Territory. All of our community engagement initiatives are funded solely by Mbudg-Mburrum. We do not rely on government funding or outside sponsorships, ensuring that our support remains independent, authentic, and driven by our values.

We reinvest directly into programs that make a difference: from school attendance initiatives that keep kids engaged in learning, to sporting clubs and events that build pride and connection, and sponsorships for Indigenous organisations leading change on the ground.

For us, it’s not just about building roads, it’s about building stronger futures, creating real pathways for work, wellbeing, and opportunity.

Supporting Families and Strengthening Communities

We support families living in Alice Springs town camps and remote communities by providing monthly food shopping and power card top-ups. This initiative helps ease the cost of living, ensures homes have power and meals on the table, and shows our dedication to strengthening families and community where it matters most.

Alpurrurulam Attendance Warriors

Mbudg-Mburrum proudly provides yearly financial support to the Alpurrurulam School’s Attendance Warrior initiative. The program celebrates students who show up to school every day, recognising them as Attendance Warriors and rewarding their commitment with a voucher to the local shop. By backing this initiative, we help encourage consistent school attendance, strengthen learning outcomes, and create brighter futures for young people in Alpurrurulam.

Workshops

Our team delivers free workshops in remote communities, regional towns, and major cities across Australia. Each session is curated to suit the needs of participants, with a focus on showing how creativity and cultural expression can be turned into opportunity. We share practical tools and resources, drawn from Tradara’s experience building a successful art business; to teach people how to utilise their talents and artworks to generate income online. These workshops are about more than business, they’re about empowerment, self-determination, and creating pathways for sustainable futures.

Strong Futures Through Sport

Mbudg-Mburrum actively contributes to Indigenous athletes, local teams, and community sporting clubs across the Northern Territory. We know that sport builds confidence, connection, and pride, especially for young people. By backing individuals and clubs, we’re helping create opportunities for healthier lifestyles, stronger communities, and the next generation of role models on and off the field.

Backing Blak Excellence in Business

Mbudg-Mburrum is a proud sponsor of the NT Indigenous Business Network’s Blak Business Awards and their Aboriginal Economic Development Forum (AEDF). These events celebrate the achievements of Indigenous entrepreneurs, showcase the strength of Blak businesses, and create pathways for growth and collaboration. By supporting them, we stand alongside other leaders in driving economic empowerment, cultural pride, and lasting opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
